Don't want to chase Meta yourself?
We'll take your case, file it through the right channels and push until you're back in, within a few days. 100% refund if we can't get your account back.
This is a self-help template, not legal advice. Citing your rights is normal and lawful. Check local rules or talk to a lawyer before you go to court.
Which tone should you pick?
| Tone | Best for | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | The in-app review box, a first try | Short, polite, identifies the account and asks for a manual review. |
| Firm | Support chat, email, a second attempt | Disputes the decision, asks for a human, sets a 14-day written deadline and names your next step. |
| Formal legal notice | Tracked post and email, Appeals Centre Europe, or a stalled case | Cites your rights where you live (DSA, GDPR, UK GDPR or US consumer routes), asks for reasons and your data, tells Meta to preserve records, and sets out exactly what you'll do if they ignore it. |
What the formal notice cites, by region
- EU/EEA: DSA Article 17 (statement of reasons), Article 20 (complaint not decided solely by automation), Article 21 (out-of-court dispute bodies such as Appeals Centre Europe), and GDPR Articles 15 (your data within one month) and 22 (human review of automated decisions). Read the ACE guide and the GDPR request guide.
- UK: UK GDPR Articles 15 and 22, an ICO complaint, and the small claims track. See UK users.
- US: complaints to your State Attorney General, the FTC and the BBB, and small claims court. See US complaint routes.
How to get the most from your letter
- Match the route. Check where each decision is appealed before pasting.
- Fill every field. A letter with real dates, a reference number and the harm you're suffering reads as a case, not a complaint.
- Send once, then follow up on a schedule. If the deadline passes, switch "I need" to A follow-up. It writes a final notice that references your first letter.
- Keep a log of dates, routes and screenshots. It's your evidence if you escalate. More in sending a legal notice to Meta.
